Dean Mauro

Dean Mauro plays the role of Jim Caldwell in Here and Now Thereafter. After returning home from Afghanistan Jim must share very sad news with his family and friends, then have to face saying goodbye to them one more time.

Dean Mauro is one of the few actors who paid his dues behind the camera first, learning every element of film making on the ground.  His wide range and depth of experience started when he ventured to Hollywood 25 yrs ago starting as a PA and working his way through just about every department in film such as Grip, Electric, Art Department, camera, post-production and eventually up the production line to become an MTV award winning Producer.  Dean's diverse career is a result of the consistent professionalism with which he approaches every project he takes on.

Giving in to his true passion in front of the camera, Dean committed himself 100% as an actor earning principal leads in feature films as well as Television/HBO, Theater, national commercials and live presentations. Dean has recently completed lead roles in Several independent feature films, "Casino Job", the award winning "One Long Day",  "Bubblegum & Broken Fingers" as well as  co-starring roles along side Vincent Pastore in "Red Herring", Frank Vincent in "Resurrection" and Bond girl and pop icon, Lana Wood in "Renovation".

In addition to features, Dean recently released several short films that showcased his range as an actor and his ability to create diverse characters.  Dean has also been active in national commercial work as well as local and regional spots and has appeared as a day player on daytime, primetime and cable television, in shows such as "Passions", "CSI", "Entourage", and the History Channel's "Breaking Vegas" series. Start-up projects are also a welcome challenge to Dean - he was involved with three pilots with FOX. Recently Dean added to his resume as a member in a sketch comedy troop "Flock of Meese" utilizing his  comedic timing. For many years the stage was Deans home, completing a run of over 700 performances in "The Sopranos Last Supper" in Las Vegas, and was featured in several prominent publications, including four cover stories developing a strong following in Las Vegas circles. Being involved both in front of and behind the camera for the last 25 years, Dean understands the complexities of film, television and theater better than most, and his commitment to excellence and professionalism to both cast and crew make him not only an asset on any set, but also a role model for young actors and filmmakers alike.
